Prepared from animal testicular tissue
in 1 remedy
A sarcode made from animal testicular tissue, traditionally used in homoeopathy for weakness, low vigour and the tiredness of later life in men.
Testiculus is a sarcode, a homoeopathic preparation made from healthy animal gland tissue, here the testes of the bull or ram. In older books it appears as Orchitinum, or testicular extract. Its use goes back to the physiologist Brown-Séquard, who in 1889 reported renewed vigour after taking such extracts himself.
Homoeopaths traditionally use it for general weakness, tiredness and low vigour in men, especially in later life, and for the slowing down that comes with age. It is also mentioned for complaints around the change of life. It usually appears in combination with other glandular and plant remedies in tonics for men.
