Radium Bromide
Radium bromatum
Radium bromide, a salt of radium
in 1 remedy
A salt of radium, the radioactive element, traditionally used in homoeopathy for deep aching pains that ease on moving, stiff joints and skin blemishes.
Radium bromide is a salt of radium, the radioactive element discovered by Marie and Pierre Curie in 1898. It glows faintly and gives off radiation, and in the early twentieth century it was widely studied in medicine. The raw salt is dangerous to handle; homoeopathy uses it only in specially prepared form.
It was proved in homoeopathy in the early 1900s. Homoeopaths traditionally associate it with severe aching pains all over the body with restlessness, eased by moving about, stiff and aching joints, and lower backache. It is also linked with skin complaints such as acne, itching and red blotches.
