Prostatinum · Prostate gland sarcode
Prepared from healthy animal prostate gland
in 1 remedy
A sarcode made from healthy prostate gland, traditionally used in homoeopathy for frequent night urination and a weak, dribbling stream in older men.
Prostate, also called Prostatinum, is a sarcode: a homoeopathic preparation made from healthy animal gland tissue, in this case the prostate, the small gland below the bladder in men. Sarcodes rest on the old idea that a preparation of a healthy organ can support the same organ in the body.
Homoeopaths traditionally use it in remedies for the usual prostate troubles of later life: frequent urging, getting up at night to pass urine, a slow, weak stream, dribbling afterwards and a feeling of pressure between the legs. It is often combined with glandular and plant remedies in tonics for men.
