Sodium chloride (common salt)
in 2 remedies
Common salt, one of homoeopathy's major remedies and a Schuessler tissue salt, traditionally linked with fluid balance, watery colds, dryness and headaches.
Natrum muriaticum is sodium chloride, ordinary table salt, or namak, which the body needs to keep its water in balance. Homoeopathy prepares it by long grinding, and it is also one of the twelve tissue salts of Wilhelm Schuessler's biochemic system.
Homoeopaths traditionally associate it with the body's water balance. Its picture includes colds that start with violent sneezing and a thin discharge like raw egg white, dry lips and skin, cold sores, and throbbing, blinding headaches, as if little hammers were knocking. It is also known for complaints that follow grief, in a reserved person who prefers to cry alone.
