Sodium sulphate (Glauber's salt)

in 1 remedy

One of Schuessler's twelve tissue salts, linked in homoeopathy with bilious, sluggish digestion and with complaints that worsen in damp, rainy weather.

Natrum sulphuricum is sodium sulphate, known since the seventeenth century as Glauber's salt after the chemist who described it. It occurs naturally in mineral springs and salt deposits and forms clear, colourless crystals. It is one of the twelve tissue salts of Schuessler's biochemic system, where it is linked with the body's water balance.

Homoeopaths associate it with people who feel worse in damp houses and wet weather and best in warm, dry air. It is traditionally used for a bitter taste, wind and bilious, sluggish digestion, for loose morning stools, and for a rattling, wheezy chest that flares in damp air.
