Potassium bromide
in 1 remedy
A potassium salt that homoeopaths associate with a tired, forgetful mind, restless fidgety hands, disturbed sleep and acne.
Kali bromatum is potassium bromide, a white crystalline salt. In the nineteenth century it was widely prescribed as a sedative, and its heavy use gave doctors a clear picture of what too much of it does: dulled thinking, poor memory, drowsiness and acne.
Homoeopathy draws on that picture. The remedy is traditionally associated with brain fag and forgetfulness, difficulty finding words, restless hands that must keep busy, night terrors in children and disturbed sleep. It is also one of the classic homoeopathic remedies for acne, especially pustular spots on the face, chest and shoulders.
