Leaves and green rind of the unripe nut
in 1 remedy
The familiar walnut tree, whose leaves and green husk are used in homoeopathy, where it is traditionally associated with acne, scalp itching and crusty rashes.
Juglans regia is the common walnut, a large, long-lived tree of the walnut family native to Central Asia and south-eastern Europe. In India it grows in Kashmir and the Himalayan foothills, and its nuts, akhrot, are a familiar dry fruit. The homoeopathic tincture is made from the leaves and the green rind of the unripe fruit.
In homoeopathy, walnut is mainly a skin remedy. It is traditionally used for acne and blackheads on the face, small itchy red pimples, a red scalp that itches at night, and crusty milk-scab rashes in infants. Styes also appear in its traditional picture.
