in 1 remedy

The pot marigold, one of homoeopathy's best-known skin remedies, traditionally used for cuts, grazes, scrapes and raw, open wounds.

Calendula is the pot marigold, a bright orange or yellow member of the daisy family, probably native to southern Europe and grown in gardens worldwide. Its petals are edible and have been used for centuries in salves and teas. It is a different plant from the genda marigold common in India.

Calendula is one of homoeopathy's best-known remedies for the skin, used on the skin as well as by mouth. It is traditionally associated with cuts, grazes, torn skin and open wounds, with soreness out of proportion to the injury, and with mild burns and scalds. Homoeopaths also turn to it after a tooth extraction.
