Calcarea Arsenicosa

Calcium arsenite

Calcium arsenite (arsenite of lime)

in 1 remedy

Arsenite of lime, a homoeopathic salt traditionally associated with chilly, weary people, tender kidneys and the complaints of heavier women around menopause.

Calcarea arsenicosa is calcium arsenite, a white salt combining lime with arsenic. It joins two important homoeopathic minerals, Calcarea and Arsenicum, and shares features of both. Because it contains arsenic the raw salt is poisonous; homoeopathy uses it only in specially prepared form.

Homoeopaths traditionally associate it with chilly, easily tired people and with complaints in heavier women around the menopause, when slight emotion brings on flushes and breathlessness. It is also linked with tenderness over the kidneys, weary, heavy legs, headaches eased by lying on the painful side, and the low mood of people giving up alcohol.
