Phosphoric acid

in 2 remedies

A mineral acid traditionally used in homoeopathy for exhaustion that starts in the mind, with apathy, poor memory and thinning, greying hair.

Phosphoric acid is a colourless, syrupy mineral acid made mainly from phosphate rock. It gives cola drinks their tang and is widely used in fertilisers and food processing. In concentrated form it is corrosive; homoeopathy uses it only in specially prepared form.

Its keynote in homoeopathy is weakness: mental tiredness first, then physical. Homoeopaths traditionally turn to it after grief, overwork, long illness or loss of fluids, when a person becomes listless, indifferent and forgetful. It is also associated with fast-growing, overtaxed young people and with hair that thins or greys early.
